Trinity Lutheran Church and School Mission Statement

The Mission of Trinity Lutheran Church and School is to nurture and challenge children, youth, and adults in their knowledge of the Lord, to grow in faith, to respond in love, and to use good stewardship of our  God-given gifts in ..... EQUIPPING EACH OTHER FOR THIS   LIFE AND THE NEXT.

Church and School History Overview

In May 1871 a group of German speaking immigrants, who had settled south of the Black River, contacted the pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church in St Clair to help them in planting a mission in Port Huron, then known as Desmond Landing. At that time, Tenth Street was the last road to the west before just fields and country. Lumber and the railroad were thriving industries, and the military base in Fort Gratiot made this a strategic spot on the border with Canada. Rev. John Ruff established a preaching station and began offering classes for the children, religion as well as other subjects, and thus beginning an inseparable bond between church and school, uninterrupted these 135 years.
